Our Company
History & Team Pride
In 1986, Ed Duquaine, lifetime resident of West Bend, Wisconsin, was looking for a good paying job to help him pay for his college tuition. He found a job as a laborer for a commercial concrete and masonry contractor. After two years of attending college full time, and working construction on his college breaks and summer vacations, Ed decided concrete and masonry work was what he truly enjoyed doing, and pursued it as his career. After managing crews and jobsites for nearly a decade, Ed decided it was time to form his own company. Duquaine Concrete & Masonry Inc. was founded in 1995.
Starting without much more than a wheelbarrow and a shovel, Ed focused on growing the business through satisfying his customers. The primary form of advertising Duquaine Concrete and Masonry uses is “word of mouth”. That “word of mouth” advertising from satisfied customers has allowed the company to grow immensely in the past fourteen years!
Duquaine Concrete & Masonry operates its company with a variety of crews and divisions, each being specially trained in their specific area of the concrete and masonry industry. Continued training and education at seminars, trade shows, and engineering courses are a constant for their staff. Whether you need a footing placed, a foundation poured, a slab finished, a masonry building built, a acid stained floor, a concrete countertop installed, or anything in between, Duquaine Concrete & Masonry has a crew of trained professionals to satisfy your needs. They also employ an Operations Manager, Estimator, and full office staff to service their customers promptly!
The company’s success and customers’ satisfaction has come through “Team Pride” which is the company’s motto as well as the culture that has been developed. A customer may have three or four different crews on their site throughout the course of their project, and each of Duquaine Concrete & Masonry’s crews work together as a team, taking pride in each phase of the project. All of the crews are working toward the same goal, a satisfied return customer. Ed Duquaine states, “If our customers are satisfied, our employees are satisfied. If our employees are satisfied, our customers will be satisfied. We may not be the biggest company out there, but we are okay with that. Our goal is to be the best! We want to be the best choice for both our customers as well as our employees!”
